Bryson's Turn...

Bry had is tonsils out yesterday. Yep, it's the month of surgeries at out house. But NO SURGERY FOR MADDIE! I couldn't handle it!! We've been working on Bry's nasal congestion for almost a year. We've done sprays, steroids, antihistamines... you name it, we've done it. He's just ALWAYS congested. Sometimes it runs, but most of the time he just can't breathe out of his nose. He can a little, just not 100%. So, after everything we've done the doc finally told us that it's time for another surgery. I'm actually glad that we've been thru the last year because I know we've exhausted all our resources and I'm so very glad that the doc didn't suggest the surgery a year ago. We did everything and we felt it was time for surgery. But, even though we were ready it was still awful. So, we did tonsils, something called turbinate reduction and flushed out his sinus cavities. He had a huge sinus infection that never would go away with medicine so that was definitely a contributing factor. We did adenoids about a year ago and the doc said that eliminating the tonsils at this point would only help the situation so we did that. So then in the nose you have something called turbinates that help with the nose draining and  his were extraordinarily large so he made them smaller. All in all an awful thing for my little guy to have to go thru but if this solves the problem then it will all be worth it. He's actually doing really well considering all he went thru. He's loving the all you can eat buffet of pudding, ice cream and popscicles as well as the permanent bed on the couch in front of the TV.... a rarity at our house! :)
