Family Camp

Yep, it's that time of the year. Family reunions and all that good stuff. Well, in Ty's family we do a week long camping trip for our reunion. I was able to widdle it down to 3 fantastic days and 2 horrible nights though. :)  I really and truly don't mind camping. I can go days without a shower and love love love smores, but I HATE the nights. I'm cold no matter how many blankets I have on top of me, I don't sleep on air mattresses and I'm always up wondering if my kids are cold or if they're asleep. So, I don't sleep and then I'm tired the next day and the cycle just repeats itself. Ok. Enough about how much I really really really don't like camping. :)  So, this year we found out the day before we were supposed to go camping that our site was flooded, so we ended up "camping" in Ty's parents and grandparents back yard. Because they live right next door to each other and they have a HUGE yard it was actually really great that we ended up there. Grandpa just built a HUGE sandbox and they also have a tramp so I never had to wonder where my children were and if they were being eaten by bears in the wilderness! LOVED IT!! I was able to play games, chat with cousins and read a ton! I think that we'll be there again next year so maybe this camping thing won't be so bad!!

Papa loves to give rides on his tractor. He's so wonderful he drives around and around and around the yard and will do it forever just to make the grandkids happy!!

The fun sandbox that Papa built for the grandkids... then grandma hit the yard sales and filled it up with toys!

Cute Maddie with grandma... not sure what the heck she's doing here. :)

So one of the games that they did was dump like 200 pennies in the sand box and the kids had to dig and dig and when they got a certain amount they got to go pick a prize. We had 3 huge tables of prizes that we all brought and this was the highlight of camp!

This is one of our cousins Molly. Maddie found her the first day we got there and didn't let her out of her sight! She kept saying where's my babysitter?? It was so cute!

Another fun game we played was bingo. Of course the kids got to pick prizes when they won a game. :)

One night Big Foot came into our camp!! The kids followed the big footprints and found out that Big Foot likes to leave prizes for the kids!

We hit Bear Lake one of the days we were at camp. Unfortunately, it really wasn't that great of a day to go. The wind didn't stop blowing and the waves were really choppy. But, the kids had fun on the beach and we had a pretty fun time. After about 30 of being at the lake Maddie climbed up on Nana's lap and fell asleep for about 2 hours. Camping can wear a girl out!!

But, not this boy!! He played and played in the sand and with all the kids... even if he didn't know them! If there's kids building a sand castle or with fun toys he just makes himself at home and plays with them!

Aunt Susan brought her cotton candy machine and made us all lots of cotton candy... again, not sure what Maddie girl is doing but man did she love that cotton candy!!

Just chillin' with the cotton candy. :)
