Third grade and First grade. THIRD GRADE and FIRST GRADE! My big kids are getting too big! Maddie was so so excited to start first grade this year because she is doing the Chinese dual immersion program. She has 2 teachers, a Chinese teacher and an English teacher. For the first half of the day she goes to Chinese and her teacher speaks NO ENGLISH. She actually does speak it but not to the kids. She won't even speak it to me! So, she does that in the morning and then after lunch she goes to her English classroom. She is allowed to speak English in her Chinese class only until October 1. Then no English is allowed in her Chinese classroom. Crazy, right?? She is so excited about this and I know that she'll be amazing at it. They program is set to continue thru high school so when she graduates she'll have a minor in Chinese from Utah State. She's so big!
Bry wasn't quite as excited about starting school, but almost. His teacher seems so great and I think that he'll make great strides this year. He has some good friends in his class and in the neighborhood that he loves to play football with at recess which is great. Maddie says her very favorite part of first grade is eating lunch with her friends. I can just see her sitting at her lunch table chatting with her friends!
Kendal sure missed Maddie the first day of school. She kept asking me "Where's Maddie, Mom?" She kind of just wandered around the whole day. But, now she's getting used to it a bit and it happy that she doesn't have to repeat everything that Maddie tells her to. :)
And of course here's the Real Maddie picture... Always the poser!
So excited while waiting for the bus...
LOVE these two cuties!
