Here Comes the Parade
Today was the USU Homecoming parade. Our Families Supporting Adoption group has a float that we made so that we can enter into all the local parades all through out the summer. There are quite a few here in the Valley that we are in. The kids all love it and the little girls in particular love being beauty queens! Luckily today was gorgeous. It was a little on the chilly side when we started, but the sun came out and warmed us up quite nicely!
Mom and Maddie before the parade. Maddie is sportin' her UND (University of North Dakota) sweatshirt!
The parade started off nicely enough, but went downhill fast. Ty walked next to the float with a few other people to hand out pens that said Families Supporting Adoption and the phone number of our local LDS services agency. Anyway. Bry didn't want to sit down the entire time and the parade fell right during Maddie's nap time. Maddie slept for about 10 minutes and then was happy for about 20 minutes. After that, it was all over. Maddie SCREAMED for about 15 minutes straight. I could just see all the people watching the parade thinking , "yeah, right. Adoption looks like a GREAT option for us!!" :) Finally, Ty ran out of pens and decided to walk next to the float holding Maddie. She calmed down and was happy the rest of the parade. Maybe next year it'll be better. Maddie will be older and hopefully a bit happier about missing a nap every now and again. As for now, if she misses her nap she's NOT happy one bit!

I'm sorry the parade was tough. Nap time is just so rough. At least you've got the memories, right? You've got 2 little cuties, though! Even if they were a bit rough today.
